Fly In Formation - Quake Matthews
For episode 105, Halifax heavyweight Quake Matthews joined me to talk about his new album "Patio Season", shifting gears for the summer, embracing nostalgia, the Halifax Hip Hop scene, open mics, country music writing camps, golf, staying out of politics and open mic nights, and a lot of other important stuff. It was an honour to have Quake on the show, he’s been making a lot of moves, and I’ve been a fan for a while now. Patio Season is well worth a listen, so do that, and if you get a chance, go check out a show when Quake hits your town.
Hit follow on Youtube and Twitch, I dream of one day having 1000 followers and being able to monetize this show, but it’s still a long road to get there.
Listen to the audio only version of this episode exclusively at https://www.mixcloud.com/doobyis - where you will also find ongoing weekly mixes of 100% Canadian new release Hip Hop on my show "After the Smoke Is Clear" (#ATSIC) - each episode is followed by an interview with an artist, tap in and support the scene.
These interviews happen Tuesdays on Twitch - come by and catch them live! Everyone’s welcome to drop in for the live streams on Twitch, say what’s up, or suggest a question to the guest. If it’s a good one, I might even pretend I thought of it myself.
