I rooted out a reclusive Edmonton lyricist, Max Prime, fresh out of hibernation and back in the rap game. He had a lot of insight into the Devon era of Edmonton Hip Hop, when he and his Low Budget Affiliate homies mixed an appreciation for rugged lyricism with humor and blue collar work ethics to crank out some of the undergrounds favourite albums. We also covered his current resurgence, his remix tribute project for the late great Conspiracy, his various re-releases, and his potentially upcoming return to releasing new music. Good chat, fun guy to get into the politics of the indie scene with. Don’t miss it.
