Lee Reed’s been an inspiration for me since I got the chance to see him perform around a decade ago in Edmonton. There aren’t many artists with the ability to cover real life pressing topics in their music without coming off corny, boring, or preachy. It’s a fine line to walk, but it’s one Lee has tight roped for his whole career, which spans back to the 90s. It was very educational to get a chance to pick his brain about touring, his outlook on creating, and his local Hamilton scene. I don’t always get into political questions, or try to solve big societal problems in these interviews, but with a guest this well versed in that area, I had to take the opportunity to ask for some advice on how we could better the world. We covered a lot, and had a lot of fun. Really looking forward to what Lee has coming up next on the albums he told me about.
