Fly In Formation 147 - RUNXGUN
On episode 147 the Contra guys were back - not Lance and Bill, Big J.O. & Heavy G! The duo dropped their Contra III: Alien Wars album over the summer while I was on hiatus, and it didn’t disappoint with perhaps the most evolved version of the groups patented mix of nostalgic beats and rapid fired back and forth lyrical deliveries. Rooted in the same soulful boombap lane inspired by that Roc Dynasty era, they picked up where they left off and just keep firing. We talked about the album, the process, the added length giving a bit more chance for variety this time, the best strategies to maneuver in the indie artist world in the modern era, and a bunch of other really important stuff.
