Fly In Formation 117 - Ev Thompson
For episode 117 I talked with Saskatchewanian emcee Ev Thompson about his new project 45 Isn't 23 - the Michael Jordan comeback inspiration, skipping Spotify and streaming altogether, the necessity of social media, his history in the Saskatoon scene and beyond, longevity, evolution, and a lot of other important stuff like usual. Ev is half of a group called Harvey Dent, and we were originally going to talk earlier this year when they dropped a project called Cut The Music, but scheduling worked out this way in the end, so I’ll have to catch up with his partner in rhyme Kurlz another time.
Hit follow on Youtube and Twitch. One day maybe I’ll hit 1000 followers and be able to monetize this show, but it’s still a long road to get there. Twitch subscriptions help keep the lights on, and you get a free one if you link your Amazon Prime to you your Twitch account, so use that to support your favourite streamer each month.
Listen to the audio only version of this episode exclusively at https://www.mixcloud.com/doobyis - where you will also find ongoing weekly mixes of 100% Canadian new release Hip Hop on my show "After the Smoke Is Clear" (#ATSIC) - each episode is followed by an interview with an artist, tap in and support the scene.
These interviews happen Tuesdays on Twitch - come by and catch them live, or watch them a couple days later on Youtube.

Tell a friend who likes Hip Hop about the show if you think they’d enjoy this kind of content. Pushing Canadian Hip Hop to the masses isn’t easy!
FiF interviews stream every Tuesday, live on Twitch - Schedule posted below!
Also, check out the After the Smoke is Clear archives for hour-long mixes covering the best new Hip Hop across Canada. New episodes drop Mondays and/or Thursdays. It’s the only place you can catch the Fly in Formation interviews in audio form, so I suggest getting the free Mixcloud app.
If you want to support monetarily, the best way is buying my music or dropping a donation here.
Thanks for checking in.
