Fly In Formation 115 - Brainiac & Kjahn

For Episode 115, I connected with Ruze Records representative Brainiac & his Seattle based collaborator Kjahn, who talked about the creation of the album, in person sessions, linking through technology, respecting the traditional Hip Hop sound, an outside view on the Canadian scene, and a whole bunch of other important stuff. Kjahn was one of two American’s I’ve spoken to on FiF so far, the other being John Creasy. It’s all love for anyone anywhere who is pushing their art independently, I just don’t have enough time in a week to even begin to dig into the underground scenes in America, and right now I've lost a lot of love for the country on a political level and on the grounds that they’ve started publicly threatening our countries sovereignty while recklessly brandishing the most powerful military the world has ever seen. It’s nothing truly personal with every American, but ya fucked up this time, and I’ve never felt happier in my decision to focus my attention firmly North of the border.

Hit follow on Youtube and Twitch. One day maybe I’ll hit 1000 followers and be able to monetize this show, but it’s still a long road to get there. Twitch subscriptions help keep the lights on, and you get a free one if you link your Amazon Prime to you your Twitch account, so use that to support your favourite streamer each month.

Listen to the audio only version of this episode exclusively at https://www.mixcloud.com/doobyis - where you will also find ongoing weekly mixes of 100% Canadian new release Hip Hop on my show "After the Smoke Is Clear" (#ATSIC) - each episode is followed by an interview with an artist, tap in and support the scene.

These interviews happen Tuesdays on  Twitch - come by and catch them live, or watch them a couple days later on Youtube.
